Only Slightly Self-Indulgent
This episode of the FFS Talk podcast happens to follow Dan’s birthday, and after so many it’s a nice time to reflect a little bit, especially earlier rather than later, about how far down the bucket list we are at this point.
If one types in a search for “Theories of The Good Life” at your favorite internet search engine, there will be countless results, from Aristotle to Jordan Peterson and more, because everybody has a theory about this sort of thing, and everybody should. Should it be borrowed from one or more philosophers or celebrities or educators or family members? Sure, as a starting point.
To kick off this topic arc, a wandering recollection of the last half century as it relates to what should be every individual’s task through life, to determine and decide what will make it a good one.

We’re using Substack and Revue newsletters as a way to reach out to listeners directly, because individual participation is what makes a podcast (or other “content projects” like live streams, video productions, a good newsletter…) successful. The goal of this entire show, the FFS Talk podcast, is to have interesting discussions about what is working and what is not when it comes to a variety of real, consequential topics, and over time with these sorts of discussions, we can decide what to do about this topics.

If you are interested in this and other projects in which Dan Hugo participates, there is a useful central hub of links and other information conveniently stored in a Buy Me a Coffee profile, which will also (without obligation, by the way) allow support for your host’s caffeine habit. Coffee fuels these projects (some of which will be revenue-generating themselves), and proceeds received via this particular connection go specifically toward filling up the bean canisters (or perhaps a visit to a coffee shop for an FFS Meetup? Hmm…)

Either way, thanks for reading and listening, great discussions often begin with one or both of those.
